Numerous products introduced in the U.S. are subject to the provisions of the Consumer Product Safety Act (CPSA) and the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA). The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is the competent federal authority which monitors compliance with the legal provisions, receives consumer complaints, and has the regulatory power to issue safety standards and other implementing provisions.
